What we want the audience to find out?

What we don’t want the audience to find out?
· That two of the characters actually die
· That the main and last girl remaining (Sonia) does not die
· That Sonia kills Mia – good over evil theory, however not as expected.

Script for film trailer
The film trailer starts off with the main character Mia sitting in the school library, reading in a variety of educational and fictional books. She seems contempt and dedicated to her work, she is dressed smartly, her hair tied up, a collar shirt and a casual pair of jeans, she also wears glasses on her face along with a carrier rucksack to make her seem ‘goofy’. The editing in the scene will be slow as the camera work must portray a lonely yet timid character that would never be associated with committing a crime or doing evil deeds.
The next shot introduced the three other characters, Sonia, Karren and Jodey walking down the corridor to establish that they are popular and contrasts to Mia. We then see the characters face to face with each other and tension should be conveyed. The next shots shows the popular girls pushing the hurting Mia, her books fall on the floor as well as herself, one of the main popular girls, Sonia, pick up the fairy tale book (Cinderella) and mocks her then finishes by ripping it up. The trailer will then sound the girl’s laughter through non-diegetic sound. The camera then zooms as a close up of her face looking distorted and like a physco, suggesting something bad is going to happen.
The next shot shows one of the mean girls (Karren) on her own texting outside the school grounds, the camera seems to be behind the bush of some sort, suggesting that she is being worked. The only thing we see is that she is being strangled and her body dragged off in short quick cuts. A piece of the Cinderella book is left at the crime scene like the joker in ‘The Dark Knight’ film. Whilst the other’s are wondering where she is, Mia is keeping a close eye on them, and a variety of quick snappy shots are used to show this.
The following shot shows the other girl Jodey holding her mascara brush and seeing Mia’s reflection in the mirror, we then see a knife in Mia’s hand, the audience will not know whether she is dead or not. While this is taking place, Sonia looks around the local area trying to call her friends, however gets no answer, a short clip will be shown of the phone in her hand and her frustratingly putting it down, a variety of quick cuts will be used as well as a dramatic sound track.
Towards the end of the trailer, Sonia walks into the girls bathroom and screams, the audience however does not know what she is screaming about to keep them in suspense. She then runs into the woods and trips and falls, the last shot shows a low angle view of Mia walking towards her with a knife, then the caption and name of film appears on the screen. The last shot used will be used to spook the audience as Mia will unexpectedly jumps out in front of Mia with a scary looking appearance.

Plan of action
Currently all my research for the coursework is complete which means that the actual planning of my horror film trailer is in session. After the half term i will be story boarding my film trailer including all the scenes and the dialogue for all of them. I will also be planning the locations of the sets as well as choosing the actors to play put the film trailer. I am estimating a minimum of ten scenes at different locations. During the scenes i will also be taking photographs to use the prmotional wedsite as well as the film poster.
This is a plan of all the material i will be producing over the next six weeks:
1st and 2nd week- I am going to script andf storyboard the trailer and plan the sequence of the film trailer including locations and confirming actors as well booking the correct equiptment.
3rd week- Start filiming and completing the trailer as well as taking the photographs needed on set for the film poster and website homepage.
4th week- Edit the film trailer and complete it.
5th week- Start prodcing the film poster (Karishma) and website homepage (Dalvir)
6th week- Evaluating and making improvements

Analysis of horror films
Analysis of Texas chainsaw massacre trailer
Beginning:
o Longer clips of footage
o Calmer music
o Less action
o Graphics
o A small clip of the problems to come.
o Starts off normal-equilibriums
Middle:
o Quick cuts-shots get shorter
o Non-diegetic sound- heart beats suggesting anxiousness and something bad is about to happen.
o Sounds get louder gradually
o Clips are made as pieces of photography symbolised by sounds of a camera

Analysing Horror Film Posters
- A large title which attracts the eye, bold colours which stand out from the background, intriguing picture which would attract viewers to the film.
- Persuasive language which might persuade the viewers to go and see the film.
- Using the main character's name for promotion, and the certification will either to ensure that the right type of people are watching the film.
- Using either the rule of thirds or the triangle of interest as a format for work.
Rule of thirds
The Rule of Thirds is based on the fact that the human eye is naturally drawn to a point about two-thirds up a page. Cropping photo’s are a way to use this rule as the main subjects are located around one of the intersection points rather than in the centre of the image:

Special/Spooky fonts for title sequences
Rule of thirds, in the sense of the colour scheme
Colours used in images and fonts complement each other
Bold title/name of film
Scary main image, usually covering the whole poster, and text placed on top of initial image

Aims of advanced portfolio
Genre: Teen Horror
Plot summary: Based around a timid teenage girl who studies constantly and spends most of her time in the school library. Unfortunately, a group of popular and desirable teenage girls bully her to the point in which she loses all self control and turns into a psychotic mess, whereby she kills each of her enemies one by one.
Aims:To engage audience in a horror film trailers which appears postmodern, as well as a film poster and promotional web page.
Target audience: Young to late teens.
Institutions: Small independent company with limited funds.
Plot summary: Based around a timid teenage girl who studies constantly and spends most of her time in the school library. Unfortunately, a group of popular and desirable teenage girls bully her to the point in which she loses all self control and turns into a psychotic mess, whereby she kills each of her enemies one by one.
